As part of the Integrated Development Project in Huíla and Namibe, ADPP is organising and training farmers in 29 Farmer's Field Schools in Gambos and Bibala.  New boreholes have increased access to water in many of the communities, and drip irrigation systems have opened new possibliities for producing vegetables. The season has also been extended since the farmers are no longer dependent on rainwater. 

Despite the COVID-10 pandemic, it is vital that production continues so families have food to eat, can produce for sale, and that they continue learning new environmentally-friendly techniques which they can adopt in their own fields.  Project staff have been working to help farmers continue to work in accordance with the rules.
