The Community HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Prevention Project continues to implement health promotion, disease prevention, and social inclusion activities across several municipalities in Cuanza Sul Province.

In the municipality of Boa Entrada, a project presentation session was held and chaired by the Municipal Administrator, David Domingos. On the occasion, the Administrator expressed the Municipal Administration’s support for the continuation of the project activities and highlighted the importance of increasing the number of community health workers to expand the reach of interventions among local communities.

During the meeting, Celestina Fortuna, the Tuberculosis Component Leader in Cuanza Sul, presented the objectives of the intervention as well as the results achieved during the second fiscal year, covering the period from July 2025 to March 2026.

In the municipality of Condé, the project team met with the Municipal Health Directorate and the One-Stop Service Centre Focal Point to present an overview of the activities implemented and the key results achieved to date. Also in Condé, a meeting was held with the Civil Registration and Identification Services to strengthen institutional cooperation and facilitate beneficiaries’ access to civil documentation, particularly National Identity Cards and Birth Registration Certificates. This initiative aims to promote social inclusion and improve access to Social Cash Transfer programmes.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Mussende, the project participated in a Health Fair organized as part of the celebrations marking International Nurses Day. The activity included community awareness sessions, the distribution of mosquito nets, and screening and testing services for HIV, Hepatitis B, and Syphilis. During the event, 75 pregnant women and volunteers benefited from testing services, reinforcing efforts to prevent disease, promote early diagnosis, and improve community health.
