The Polytechnic School Viana has been offering practical and theoretical education under the polytechnic program since 2012.  The school is currently located in Zango II. As an institution, it began in 1996 in Viana, Luanda, offering vocational courses recognized by the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training. The polytechnic program is a three-year lower secondary course from 7th to 9th grade, combining academic and practical education. The Polytechnic School Viana enrolls students from the local area, who are between 12 and 20 years of age and who have completed 6th grade. The graduation of 53 students at the beginning of 2018 brought the total number of graduates from EPP Viana to 207, 92 of whom are female.

Impact
The Polytechnic School Viana provides practical training combined with a solid lower secondary education for young people in a large and growing residential area. The students graduate with knowledge and skills of use for furthering their education or for seeking employment, whether or not in their chosen professions of health and energy.
Relations with parents, community and local authorities are good, all of which plays an important part in the effect of the project on the students themselves, and on the community as a whole. The school collaborates with the Municipal Education Office, attending meetings and offering services, with Zango Education Coordination, with the local police and with other local partners.
The Polytechnic School Viana is rightly proud of the achievements of the students and of the school as a whole. The students enjoyed cultural and sporting activities and they participated in community events, actions and activities. For a relatively new part of the city, as is Zango, The Polytechnic School Viana demonstrates what can be achieved by breaking barriers, seeking new experiences and challenges, and generally broadening the horizons of the young people – and their families – who live there.
