TCE Zaire: promoting community control of malaria, HIV and TB


TCE officers working in the fieldTCE Zaire is a project ADPP has been implementing in Soyo municipality since 2013, promoting community control of malaria, HIV and TB through a schools-based mobilization program. Teachers at 100 schools have been trained to give lessons on malaria, HIV and TB, and they organize Malaria Control Committees and Patrols at their schools. Students in the Malaria Control Patrols carry out community activities, mobilizing people around the schools to avoid infection, to know symptoms and to seek treatment. The activities are supported by Field Officers, who work house to house, disseminating key messages on the malaria, HIV and TB, and offering home-based counselling and testing for HIV.
