Women Entrepreneurs Luanda
The project is designed to improve sewing and business skills among the mainly female clients of ADPP Fundraising in Luanda. It is being implemented in Cazenga Municipality, Luanda Province, with the first courses started in early 2017.
With a goal of 400 participants in total over three years, there are currently 76 women enrolled in the project, 50 on the dressmaking course and 26 on the business skills course. Flexibility is key in the training plans and schedules, with family members being able to choose between six-month sewing courses and six-month business skills courses, thus covering the essential basics for establishing and running a successful enterprise.
Information on health issues, women’s rights and other topics relevant to the well-being of the participants and their families is passed on at Monthly Open Days.
A Training Center at EPP Cazenga houses the project, and is the setting for lessons and workshops.
