Welcome!

A brief introduction to ADPP Angola

AJUDA DE DESENVOLVIMENTO DE POVO PARA POVO - ANGOLA (Development Aid from People to People—Angola) has around 40 development projects operational throughout Angola. The organisation started its activities in 1986 with the construction of the Children’s Town in Caxito, a boarding school for orphans and other vulnerable children.

In 1992 ADPP was registered as an Angolan Association. Each of the institutions, projects or programmes operated by ADPP has a Project Council with its own leader. In total more than 1.076 people work at the projects as teachers, community activists, clothes promoters, tailors, cooks, bricklayers, accountants, secretaries, drivers and others. On a daily basis, 8.340 people work or study at ADPP Angola projects and thousands of others benefit from the effects of those projects and programmes.

Each project contributes to the fulfilment of the three overall objectives in ADPP Angola’s mission statement:

- To promote solidarity between people.
- To promote the economic and social development of Angola by implementing development projects in the areas of education, training, social well-being, health, culture, environment, production, agriculture, trade and other areas compatible with the objectives.
- To promote a better life for the underprivileged and the most needy part of the population.

ADPP Angola's projects are grouped into following sectors:

* Schools for Teachers for the Future
* Schools for Children and Young People
* Vocational Schools
* Child Aid and Community Programmes for Rural Development
* Hope
* Total Control of the Epidemic (TCE)
